What is BIM

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a set of methodologies, technologies, and standards enabling multiple stakeholders to collaboratively design, construct and operate a Facility in virtual space. Technologies allow to develop and manage data using three-dimensional models throughout the projects’ lifecycle. Likewise, methodologies based on standards allow to share data in a structured manner with all the stakeholders, promoting the collaborative and interdisciplinary work, which also adds value to the processes of the industry. BIM brings a new approach to our traditional, individual and fragmented way of working, through a collaborative working methodology. Its main focus is the development of concise information of projects and its smooth exchange between the stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a given project.
